On My Way To Skinny!!
So this is the pic that finally sent me over the edge! I looked awful! I couldn't believe that someone actually posted this pic of me on Facebook!
Today, I am actually thankful to my little cousin for doing so because this AWFUL picture set me in motion to finally make some changes in my life. Right after New Years I put my plan into action...
I joined MyFitnessPal, Scott had already signed me up for Planet Fitness so I started using my membership and I started watching what I was eating.
Some people can use those dieting calorie calculators and be alright with it. But not me folks...if you'd taken what I had been taking in for calories and just cut it down to 1200 calories or whatever...this whole endeavor would have lasted a couple days.
So here's what I did for anyone out there who is serious about losing weight and wants a realistic method in order to be successful...Count your calories and move your butt!!
Figure out what your current average calories per day is. Then just start by shaving off small amounts each week (100-200 calories) until you are down to your necessary goal. You can still eat the foods you like but learn a lot about portion control. You will still lose weight this way because your body still has to adjust to the fewer calories and you won't be starving.
Definitely take advantage of a site/app like MyFitnessPal which lets you keep track of everything you eat and any exercise you do, and then lets you know how many calories you have left for the day. In addition, it has ENTIRE support group of people out there just like us to keep you motivated!!
Exercise, exercise, exercise!! It is important!! I began going to the gym and sweating for at least 30 minutes 3 times per week. If you can't go to a gym then just walk!! Get outside and move!!
There...it's as easy as that!
This morning, being more than 25 lbs lighter, I was able to take the tags off a pair of jean that have been sitting in the "when I'm thinner pile" (that everone has but many never wear) for two years!!

The Forks, Maine!!
My sweet boyfriend of almost 8 years just called to inform me that this weekend he is going to drive up to this place in the middle of nowhere to see a trailer on some land that was offered to him by a friend under an "owner financing" agreement.
The Forks, Maine! I've been in the woods before, but this place gives it a whole new meaning. I have been in Maine my entire life, but haven't really been north of Augusta too many times. And if I have, it was an urban/suburb type of area. I've been as far east as good ole Jonesboro, Maine to visit my grandmother (RIP Grammie. I love you and think of you often), but even that seems to be more civilization then The Forks, Maine!
It would be great for him. He is what you call: "A Wanna Be Hunter". No, just kidding. He CAN actually hunt, and he has found his new past time-fly fishing. He also bought a snowmobile last year which he wasn't able to ride at all due to the unseasonable winter we had. So The Forks, Maine! is his cup of tea. Who would have thought my man from Boston would be more at home in Maine than this Maine native :) Anyway, if this deal happens...what on Earth would I do with myself up there as I do none of those things?!

FML
What exactly does this little abbreviation say? My life sucks. My life has hit bottom. My life NEEDS CHANGE! Well then do it!!! And stop posting your lifes woes on social pages as a Pity Me free for all. It's boring and repetitive and is just an example of how sad a person you represent. Get off your butt, make necessary changes and try to be happy for the sanity of the rest of us. And please...STOP using the abbreviation FML!!! How about using SIU!!!
